it's been awhile since i've posted here coz of my newer, more convenient blog. but since there's a self-declared blue moon in the sky today, here's some of the things currently going thru my life. since i doubt anyone still reads this anymore, guess i will be my own audience. but it's okay, sometimes it's good to talk to yourself.

this song is a song i haven't heard in a long time, and it's been playing in my head for the past few weeks. i love the lyrics (i love how you kiss, i love all your sounds, and baby the way you make my world go round). for my dearest bestfriend, girlfriend, ex-lepak-buddy, soulmate, well you get the idea - rachel chang ya hui.

and this song is probably one of the songs that i could sing from start to end but could barely play when i started learning it (in sec 2), and like e first, i haven't heard it in a long while till it played on the radio today on some random channel while i was scrolling thru my brand new Phillips iPod dock. heh. and this is dedicated to my best friend, m (as she prefers to be known), for introducing me to this band through this song, and for the dunno how many years she was there for me.

it's been awhile since i last blogged, not much has happened, not much has changed. still bumming around my last few weeks of complete (and honestly, complete) freedom. in my opinion, this period has somehow been quite enriching (in a non-academic, non-financial way) despite almost everyone in my life saying that i'm wasting my life away. unlike everyone else, to me, not earning money does not equate to wasting my life away. since i have the luxury of a lil financial support from my parents (trust me, very little, but you learn to get by on very little when you only have very little), why not just take some time off from life, from every single thing that could possibly bother me, and appreciate what is left - basically, life - my family (esp my mum who's been diagnosed w stage 4 cancer but thanks to God's grace is still alive and very well, e cancer has not spread much anymore), my dearest girlfriend, my group of close friends that i believe we'll see each other through life with, music, and the passion i love to hate - running.

an update on my musical journeys - i've been doing quite a few sequencing mixes but it's getting boring and monotonous without my guitar in it, so i've given up sequencing samples and all that shit. my band has been resurrected with a new vocalist, jonathan lim, and he's quite fucking awesome i must say. ask me for videos of our jamming sessions. gonna play for smu's ftv run 3, assoc day, and possibly starry night in november (smu as well). i guess i've rekindled the flame with music that died out when i entered army. i've now got plans to take over the live music society of nus, but let's see what the future holds (ie check back here in a few years).

as for running, i guess i've found back my drive to run. been doing at least 2km everyday, 5km on feeling-slightly-better days, 10km and above on feel-like-running-life-fuck days. signed up for yellow ribbon run (september 18), and stanchart 42.195 (december 4). should be doing singapore bay run 21km with sam tong too without e race bib. shall see how i'm feeling that morning.

and lastly, i came up with a list of things i'd ideally live by and after a few weeks of contemplation i think it's final...

1. love and protect those i consider dear to me.
2. conciously appreciate this same group of people.
3. accept help but do not ask for it, and help even when not asked of.
4. help others to the most of my non-financial capabilities.
5. give financially, but not till i'm in need myself.
6. earn enough to survive comfortably and let that be enough.

hopefully i can live up to it, and maybe whoever stumbles across this aged blog which contains my innermost thoughts might find inspiration from it in whatever way he/she perceives it.

alright, gonna sign off. watching harry potter tonight at 11.40pm! quite excited. hahaha. the inner kid in me is jumping about.

and yet another opening article adapted from the story of Twilight and the Thousand Other Fantasy Stories. in this latest article, humour (or rumour) has it that vampires drink orange juice. a petrified employee of orange julius was quoted saying "he just looked at me with those orange eyes, and then, i had no choice. i gave him a cup of orange!". orange julius CEO said that he was launching a personal vendetta against vampires as they were causing his profits to dip.
